When I started my classes with Eleanor Burns, I was overtaken by her fun filled spirit. She was fun and spontaneous, filled with mischief ( a little naughty) and not afraid to make a mistake. It was actually quite humorous when she was teaching a quilt block and looked at the tools as though it was the first time she had seen them. Eleanor then turned to her right hand gal Sue and said, ” how do we do this again?” Funny thing is, Eleanor was the one who created the ruler. She also has given these classes time and time again. We all get so much information in our brains that sometimes we get overloaded with all life has to offer. It’s not uncommon for us to have a senior moment, although I know quite a few seniors who have clearer minds than many of us with teenage daughters.
One thing I am sure of, Life is fast and furious, we need to take time for ourselves. Build relationships and accept people where they are. We will find great blessings if we could only slow ourselves down a bit. Thursday January 26 we will be having the first meeting of our Block Party! We will be working from Eleanor Burns Victory Quilts, done in our own unique colors palates. I have books on hand for sale. This is a great class for a beginner or intermediate quilter. The purpose is to build new friendships while creating a masterpiece. We will make 1 block each month and at the end of the year we will have made a beautiful large bed quilt. The Class will meet at 4545 Berg Rd in Duluth. 6:30-9 the last thursday of each month. space is limited so if interested please contact me @ 218-393-6262.
